General information only

Turn Vacations publishes travel guides to help you plan: where to go, when to go, what to pack and how to budget. Everything on the site is general information. It isn't tailored to your situation and isn't a substitute for checking the details of your own trip.

Travel information changes, so check before you book

We update our guides regularly, but travel changes quickly, sometimes overnight. These details in particular can go out of date between our updates:

  • Prices: flights, hotels, tours, entry fees, exchange rates and local costs
  • Entry rules: visas, passport validity, travel authorizations (such as ETIAS or an ESTA), customs and pet import rules
  • Safety: government advisories, local unrest, crime patterns and natural hazards
  • Weather and seasons: typical conditions, hurricane and monsoon seasons, and how crowded places get
  • Opening times: attractions, beaches, parks, ferries and seasonal closures
  • Provider policies: baggage allowances, pet policies, cancellation terms and age rules

Before you book or travel, please confirm the details that matter with official sources. These include your government's travel advisory service, the embassy or consulate of the country you're visiting, the official tourism board, and the airline, hotel or operator you're booking with.

Not professional advice

Nothing on Turn Vacations is professional advice:

  • Legal and immigration: we're not lawyers or visa agents. For entry requirements, rely on official government sources.
  • Medical and health: we're not doctors. For vaccines, medications, travel health, pregnancy or fitness to travel, talk to a doctor or travel clinic. The same goes for your pet's fitness to travel: ask a vet.
  • Financial and insurance: our budget tips are general ideas, not financial advice. Read any insurance policy's terms yourself before you rely on it.

Safety

Our safety guides, including those for solo travelers and families, cover sensible precautions, but no guide can remove every risk. You're responsible for your own decisions while travelling, and for the safety of the people and pets travelling with you.

Affiliate disclosure

Turn Vacations is reader-supported. Some links on the site are affiliate links to booking platforms, hotel sites, tour operators and travel-gear retailers. If you book or buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

TurnVacations.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon, the Amazon logo, AmazonSupply and the AmazonSupply logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

Some articles on this site contain links to products on Amazon. If you buy through one of those links, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. A product is mentioned only where it genuinely fits the advice in the article, it is chosen for that fit rather than for the commission, and the mention never changes what the article says. Prices, ratings and availability are shown on Amazon, not here, because they change.

Commissions never decide what we recommend. We include a hotel, product or service because we think it fits the reader the article is for, and we also mention free options and places with no affiliate link. Prices and availability shown on partner sites are set by those partners and can change at any time.

Experience and opinion

Our guides combine research with first-hand travel experience and what readers tell us about their own trips. When we say a beach is "best for toddlers" or a backpack is "worth it", that's our honest opinion based on what we know. Your trip, budget and tastes may lead you to a different choice, and that's fine.

We link to outside sites for official information and bookings. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or policies.
