About this site
Hi, I'm Eamin Hosen
Welcome to Turn Vacations. I started this site because planning a trip should feel like part of the fun. Too often it's twenty open tabs, conflicting advice and a nagging worry that you've missed something important.
I've spent years planning trips of every kind: long beach weeks, family holidays with kids who wake at 5 a.m., quick solo escapes, budget weekends and road trips with a dog in the back seat. Along the way, I've learned that the details make or break a trip. When is shoulder season really worth it? Which beach has calm water for little swimmers? Does that hotel actually welcome pets, or just tolerate them? What do you wish you'd packed on day two? Turn Vacations is where I write those answers down.
What you'll find here
- Destination guides that tell you who a place suits, not just why it's pretty
- Beach and family trip planning: where to stay, what to skip and how to keep everyone happy
- Packing lists you can actually use, sorted by trip type and season
- Budget breakdowns with real costs and ways to stretch your money
- Best times to travel: weather, crowds and prices, month by month
- Safety advice for solo travelers, families and first-timers
- Pet-friendly travel: stays, transport rules and what your pet needs on the road
How we research and write
Every guide starts with the question a real traveler would ask, and we try to answer it properly. When I research a topic, I:
- Go to official sources first: government travel advisories, embassy pages, tourism boards, park authorities, and airline and hotel policies
- Check costs and dates against current listings rather than repeating old figures
- Read what recent travelers report in forums, reviews and messages from readers, and say so when we lean on their experience
- Add what I've learned from my own trips, and keep it clear which parts are opinion
How we keep guides up to date
Travel changes constantly, so our articles aren't written once and forgotten. We review guides on a regular schedule and sooner whenever something changes, such as new entry rules, a safety advisory, a price jump or a seasonal closure. Each article shows when it was last updated. Readers help too: if you spot something that's changed, tell us and we'll check it and fix it.
Independence and how the site is funded
Turn Vacations is free to read. We pay the bills through display ads and affiliate links. If you book or buy through some of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That never decides what we recommend. If something isn't worth your money, we'll say so. Our Disclaimer has the full details.
